Hi! allow me to be a little self indulged and introdce myself...

My name is Ronald, I was born in Hong Kong in 1996 and my family and I moved to Melbourne in 2008. My passion in art sparked when I was 3, drawing colourful circles on large papers, then I was exposed to anime on after school shows in Hong Kong, the interest in anime started with reading Doraemon my dad had brought me. I watched Castle In The Sky, Gundam original series and Initial D in the year 5-6. It was when I started reading YuYu Hakusho and Slam Dunk that intrigued my passion to pursue into fine art (because I was incapable of mimicking their manga artworks). In my high school years, I focused more on fine art fundamentals to dream of one day becoming a mangaka. My life made a sharp turn after I finished my master degree in architecture in Monash University, as it became crystal clear to me that art is the very thing I wanted to do, thanks to my family supports and a plumber named David once told me after fixing my mom’s bathroom, “I regret not following my passion in art when I was young, if you like it you should stick to it.”. Today, I teach art, produce traditional oil paintings for gallery shows and competitions, illustrate for designers such as Chino Lam and books for author such as Phil Kettle. Anime is always my passion and I want to pay tribute to the hand craftsmanship of the old school anime combining with my knowledge of classical techniques to bring people a fresh perspective on anime.
