This is a Gouache painting of re-imagined Nier Automata 2B. Based on the game’s rusted desolated industrial area, the warm and reddish oxidized iron structures complement the greenish tone of the little robots. The deliberate choice of dramatic lighting on 2B is a playful twist on bourque's chiaroscuro; I enjoyed very much the process of mixing contemporary subjects such as anime with my classical art background; it elevates the technicality of the art piece. This piece applies a three point prespective to invite audience eyes to focus vertically and horizontally into the vanishing point.
