Saber Collage
Gouache A4
2025

A collab collage piece with photographer Gabriel Cheung. The photo is shot with 35mm film.
film camera settings: f8 1/250 FD f1.4 50mm Kodak Ultramax 400
One of the most recognisable backgrounds in the Fate/Stay Night franchise, the iconic Fuyuki bridge is in fact located in Kobe, Japan. Whilst this exact angle is not found in the anime or visual novel, I wanted to capture the bridge in its entirity, showcasing it's form. Careful attention was paid in the selection of apature and shutter speed. In order to bring out more of the details in the shadows such as the cross beams on the underside of the bridge, a slower shutter speed was chosen; at the cost of details in the highlights. However, the lack of details in the sky acts as a complementary backdrop, helping to emphasize the dramatic presence of the bridge itself. (*Gabriel Cheung, photographer, 2025).
