Sakuragi Hanamichi in Slam Dunk is one of my favourite manga characters, although the manga lacked an in -depth background explanation of him, it shows aimless teenagers in a hierarchical society and school environment finding their purpose in life and fighting for it through hard work and passion. I have read the whole physical manga over 30 times since 2008. The improvement of art by Takehiko Inoue was truly inspiring as a kid, I always strived to be as good as him even till today reading his latest manga ‘Real’ and ‘Vagabond’. This is a painting of Sakuragi individual training during summer holiday, a side of the character we do not see often in the manga.
