My first exposure to Yotsuba! Is flipping through my sister’s manga shelf, finding its watercoolour background art captivating, as well as its mundane depiction of everyday life, yet, it is such an extraordinary and eye-catching pair of clumsy/care-free step father and an overly energetic Dutch girl who was found in a trash… This painting is of them traveling to Melbourne flinder station and cluelessly penalised for forgetting to touch-off their Myki cards after train ride.
